Abstract: Through a survey with 193 participants, this paper investigates individuals’ frequency of taking corrective actions when exposed to unfavorable information on social media. Examining through four perspectives, including cognitive effort, expected influence, creativity, and engagement levels, 11 forms of corrective actions were ranked in three ordered levels. This paper contributes to corrective action studies by providing a new approach to investigating corrective actions, which helps researchers measure corrective actions more accurately.
